You only get “surgery” for medical need, not optional things. Trent

The Army offers LASIK to people who are serving. I got mine for free in 2004 and they paid for my ticket to go to Walter Reed (I was in Georgia at the time) and my rental car. I can’t tell you if the Marines offer the same thing but it’s very possible. You need to get with a recruiter to find out. AD

yes, you can get it for free if you’re active. And the other guy who said you can only get it if you need it is full of shit. It can be recieved optionally, but you are on a waiting list. They obviously give preference based on necessity. It involves them scratching the shit out of the surface of your eye, you’ll get pain killers and a few days of convolesent leave to go with it haha. I’m not sure what the age requirements are, ask a recruiter, chances are they may have had it done. I know my senior drill instructor and several of my company first sergeants have had it done. Paul
