Yes, if you do not take care of your contacts (wear your contacts too long, don't clean them, ect) they can scratch your cornea. But that would not affect your ability to have surgery. A scratch on your cornea is no different than a scratch on your leg or arm...it doesn't just stay scratched and oozing and gross forever, it heals. That is ludicrous…he is feeding you a line.
