kurious kitten, I got laser vision surgery last winter and haven’t had any problems. It took me a long time to get comfortable enough with the risks to get the surgery performed, now I am glad I did. I spent several visits at the clinic inquiring about how the surgery work (Lasik vs PRK) and how it would affect me. My Georgia eye doctor was very comforting. Try visiting your local Iowa laser vision center and make an appointment for a consultation.

    Good Luck

There are many excellent Lasik surgeons in your area. I work with a nonprofit Lasik patient advocacy. We don’t do Lasik; we provide objective Lasik information and certify Lasik doctors’ patient outcomes.

Of course in Rochester Minnesota you have the Mayo Clinic. I am familiar with the chief Lasik surgeon there and if you do your due diligence you will find that this doctor has given many lectures and published many articles about eye surgery. I do not have direct knowledge of the Lasik results from the Mayo Clinic, but if you use our 50 Tough Questions For Your Lasik Doctor, I’m sure you will be satisfied with their doctors’ responses.

In the Minneapolis/St Paul area you will find the surgeons at Minnesota Eye Consultants to also have authored many eye care studies. Again, the 50 Tough Questions For Your Lasik Doctor will help guide you to an appropriate surgeon.
