What are the limitations of Lasik?

TwinkaTee asked:

I have very poor vision and I have a very bad astigmatism. I seem to remember my optician telling me that it would be a waste to have Lasik? Can someone tell me why?

At one point it wouldn’t work with astigmatism but they can do it now.

I had it (though not bad an astigmatism) and they did my eyes perfectly. It did however cost more. stinky

There is a limit to how bad of vision they can fix with laser correction. This is because the more correction they have to do, the more of your cornea they are having to blast way with laser beams and they don’t want to cut completely through or make it too thin. Flying Dragon

usually it’s the thickness of the cornea and the amount of error to be repaired .
send me your prescription and I can give you a second opinion . hasafer
