Magic is Might! asked: I really want to have LASIK eye surgery sometime in the future because I have really bad eyes. But here’s the problem: my eyes are REALLY light/motion sensitive. I actually couldn’t put in contacts because the sensitivity in my eyes was so bad! I’ve heard that you have to stay awake during the LASIK surgery, but is it possible to be able to sleep during it instead?
Also; does having astigmatism affect the LASIK surgery in any way? Like, is it more expensive or longer or anything?
Thank you! Your help is appreciated

Tracy asked:
I don’t see how because how would they do the surgery if your eyes are closed but I don’t think I could just sit there and watch them cut my eye… I don’t know.
I’m really nervous.

lostinabook24 asked: I’ve been wondering about Lasik, but I’m really squeemish with my eyes; I can’t even put contacts in because it freaks me out so much. So here’s my question: Can you be anesthetized during Lasik?
I haven’t even decided if I want to have it done, and if I do, it won’t be done anytime soon.
I just want to know if I should keep considering it.
Any help would be appreciated!
