Is there a way to tell if someone has had lasik?

I haven’t had lasik and don’t wear glasses but my eyesight is poor.Anyway, can they tell if you had lasik by checking your eyes or do they check your record? Why is PRK preferred over LASIK if you want to become a pilot?

PRK has a longer recovery period, but still is it safer than LASIK, which seems to have a very fast recovery compared to LASIK?
