Why is PRK preferred over LASIK if you want to become a pilot?

PRK has a longer recovery period, but still is it safer than LASIK, which seems to have a very fast recovery compared to LASIK? can laser eye surgery work for me?

i have whats called amblyopia, im legally blind in one eye. the doctors scratched my eye during birth causing scar tissue to form and thats why im legally blind. Im trying to join the military so would eye surgery work for me? would the military pay for it?
