I want to have laser eye surgery, but i found out from a friend that you could have a layer of your eye tear away and you’ll be left with nothing but excruciatingly blurry vision. Is this true? I was planning on joining the Marine Corps without glasses or contacts. If there are any other side effects please don’t forget to mention them, thank you!

My eyes do not feel to dry when I wear my glasses. However I have a problem with wearing contacts because they dry my eyes out. I know having lasik will make them more dry at first but will they return to normal? I would like to hear someones positive experience, as I have already read the nightmare stories. And will the precedure hurt?

If you get a Lasik surgery and you need to wear glasses again after a few years, can you wear contacts?
I know Lasik is supposed to give you 20/20 but I heard some people had to wear glasses again after a few years. probably because their vision at the time of Lasik wasn’t stable.

I’m 26 and I wear eyeglasses & sometimes contacts. My eye vision is 450/20 in my left & I think 300/20 in my right. Last year I went to have lasik eye surgery but my left eye was not stable. I decide to not get the procedure done. I’m thinking about have it done this year that’s if my eye is stable. I was told that my eyesight would be around 25/20. I’m looking at the “NOW” picture which is that I don’t have to wear glasses. But for the long run: Will I have to have the surgery again, is it possible to wear contact if need afterwards, could I go blind or have double vision? What is your input?

I wear glasses, and I actually can’t wear contacts (which I purchased many years ago) because my eye instinctively closes whenever the contact gets too close to my eyeball. I also have some issues with keeping my eye open through a surgical procedure, since I might end up blinking during the LASIK process.

Would it be possible for me to be under anesthesia throughout the surgery?

I’m 14 and my dad’s telling me that wearing contacts will make the contacts scratch up the cornea or something and I won’t be able to get laser eye surgery because of that. Is this true? I’m really worried right now because I’m really hoping to get that surgery when I grow up.

*important Question* how long has it been since your LASIK?

How long did it take for your vision to restore to normal? Did your vision really go to 20/15 as I have read in my researches? Do it correct astigmatism? Does your eyes feel normal, like no dryness or itching or what so ever pain after the surgery? IF you have halos or double vision, how bad is it, Does it go away after a while??

Please help me with these questions, because i am Really really tired of wearing glasses and contacts, and I am really considering to get Lasik.

I am going to MEPS next week, I had a minor eye surgery when I was 3, I cant locate the paperwork. My recruiter said not to worry it doesnt matter. I have paperwork for other surgeries and everything else is in order. i dont wear glasses or contacts, and i have great vision. I dont want to lye, but i dont want to get disqualified for not having any paperwork. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

I have worn contacts since the 5th grade and they are starting to dry out my eyes. I would like to get the Lasik surgery, but I want to make sure it is an option I can afford. I’m sure there is financing available.

For the record, this is in Houston, Texas. I am not interested in going elsewhere for the surgery.
Also, I need the surgery because I have astigmatism, and I’m nearsighted.
I’m 23 years old. I know, the 5th grade comment made me sound really young.
