I”m a recruiter in Cleveland Ohio and you would have to wait six months after the surgery. Why not enlist then get it while you are in. There may be a waiting list but its free. If you have any questions email me at d_underwood

yes. if you get any eye surgery you have to wait 1 year no matter what. they want to make sure that you don’t loose vision. B.A.R.

Yes, it is true.

PRK or Lasik require a waiver.

Generally they make you wait one year after you have the surgery to enlist.

And forget about just not telling them, they will find out when your given a complete eye exam during basic training. jeeper_peeper321

i would not get any eye surgery before going to the military. if you wait the military will do it for you and you wont have to pay anything. also the military generally will only accept certain surgeries and you may need a waiver or at least an examination of the result before the navy will accept you. lt
