Mine came out to $2400 an eye with the intralase procedure and free lifetime correction.

Intralase cuts the flap in your eye with a laser instead of a blade.

Almost every place that does laser correction will give you a free initial visit.

Vision changes throughout your life, in terms of “developing” I’m fairly certain that all the primary structures of your eye are fully developed by 18. They won’t do it if it’s an issue.

I strongly recommend it when you can, but only with free lifetime correction, because you’ll need to get it done again in 15 or 20 years.

I was a weird experience, but well worth it. I’m loving life without contacts or glasses.

Until your eyes have not changed in vision for about 2+ years. For me this was actually at 18/19. Its usually about 21-25 though. My eye doc gave me the OK to do when I was 19, but I can’t afford it.

It’s expensive and insurance does not usually cover it as it’s not a medical necessity. It can be anywhere from 2k-4k PER eye.

Whatever you do. Do not get LASIK surgery (if you have a choice). I’ve heard bad reports about it. People had to wear moist goggles because their eyes are constantly dry. And the pain is unmentionable. I’ve always wanted to fly a jet airplane. But I don’t have perfect vision. It sucks. You have to have 20/20 vision. I have 20/120. Sorry I’m getting sidetracked. I would wait until I’m at least twenty. Just wait until your eyes are fully developed. Until then you are just going to have to stick with contacts or glasses.

    A. Hello Allie. I am a representative from LasikPlus hoping to provide you an answer to your question. Generally, you are a good candidate if:

    • You are at least 18 years old.
    • You are in good general health.
    • You have no health issues affecting your eyes.
    • You have no active eye conditions that might affect healing.
    • You have had a stable vision prescription for at least one year.
    • You are not pregnant, and have not been pregnant or nursing in the last 6 months.

In regard to your last question, the price of laser correction vision surgery varies significantly by provider, type of procedure to be performed, and equipment used. WebMD estimates that typical costs for LASIK are in the range of $2,200-$2,250 per eye. While these one-time figures may seem high to some, we know how rewarding and valuable LASIK is to our patients – it is a life altering experience. Therefore, we try to provide plenty of options when it comes to financing their LASIK procedure.

While this is some of the general information that I can provide on the topic, every person’s eyes are different. The best way to learn more and have your questions answered is to visit a local physician and take advantage of the free consultation. Feel free to visit or call 1 (866) 953-0282. I hope this information was helpful, thank you for taking the time to research LASIK!
