There are a few complications that should be considered if having the eye laser surgery. Basically the surgery is quite safe but if not treated by the right surgeon the patient might even lose his eyesight.
It is important that the surgeon will make full testing on the patient to make sure he is applicable. A clean sterile environment is also a must for the eye laser surgery.
The eyes may get dry after the eye laser surgery, which exposes the eyes to dirt, dust and more since there are no tears to take the aliens out. That may cause infections if not treated. The infections might get the complications and the eyesight problems. It is very important to be under supervision for a while to make sure everything goes right with no complications.

You can read more about it here:

Lasik and Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and lasik surgery in India by a company called Forerunners Healthcare. The Price for dental and lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

Hi My answer may help you. but certainly the answer that Josianne gave you has help me to understand a lady friend of mine. She is complaining exactly about the same things that Josianne is talking about When my friend comes to my house , she always ask me to turn most of the lights off because it hurts her eyes....and she talks abouts those Halos...and I thought my lady friend was a wimp...Now I know I was wrong
Thank you for asking this question and to Josianne as well.

Whilst I can't comment on the long term safety of laser eye surgery, I can tell you that it is entirely true that your eyesight will deteriorate as you age, irrespective of laser surgery or not.
As we get older, we gradually become more long-sighted (Pres-myopic), this is why you will notice older people needing reading glasses - they can't see up close any more and a lot of them won't admit it! Similarly, the lens in the eye hardens, making shifts between short and long range focus out of the question - hence multi-focal lenses. (Which once were bifocal)
I am was born myopic (I am short-sighted) and thus paradoxically enough, my eyesight is actually improving as I get older. The offsetting side of course is that I need multifocal specs now. But technology being what it is, I do in fact have multifocal contact lenses - work that one out - you can't put them in upside down. Concentric rings according to the optician.

I just do not trust it, I have thought about getting it done, but I don't have confidence in it at all, if it goes wrong you are buggered.
