I was wandering if anyone knew any information about the corrective eye surgery that involves sapphires?
Christina asked:
I was told that there is a surgery where they place sapphires on the cornea of the eye and this fixes your eyesight forever. I don’t know what it is called or any other information. Can anyone help?

I think someone has misunderstood.
There are sapphire blades to surgical knives, sapphire crystal probes and a DeepLight titanium-sapphire laser which is a flashlamp-excited, solid-state laser that emits near-infrared light, but nothing about sapphires being placing sapphires on the cornea.
Such sharp blades are important because…
With all such surgical methods, an interlamellar corneal scar is formed which is dependent upon the quality of the corneal cut. izzy
