How would I go about getting Lasik While In the USMC?

I am really looking for the united states marine corps, i ship off to bootcamp, and one of the first thing I want to get done is lasik, I don’t mind waiting up for 1 year, but How do i go about getting this done? what procedures do i need to take Step 1 - 10. please help me out if you have gotten eye surgery before while serving in the united states marine corps?

    Im wondering the samething. Oh and if you read this, is it possible to get screwed over? Like say you leave the military afetr 4 years, is it possible you will never be called on the wait list in 4 years?

    1. Get to the fleet, don’t do it while while training or going to your school….you don’t want to miss any time.
    2. Go to medical, get a referral.
    3. Go to hospitol, talk to them about, schedule Lasik
    4. Get Lasik
    5. No more “Port Holes”.
    6. Get laid.
    7. Repeat 6 over and over and….

    Edit: To the question above mine, yes, when you sign up for the Marine Corps you sign up for 4 years active, four years IRR….I’ve seen it happen…so yeah…theres a “chance”.

    hey, my hubby is in the army, and i aint sure if its totally differnt for the usmc but heres what he has to do.
    1- get his eye exam like usual,
    2- while there ask about lasik and they will give you a form
    3- your chain of command ( someone in there lol) has to approve the lasik,
    4- once its been approved take it back to your doctor and get placed on a wait list
    5- depending on where your station will depend on how long the way it.

    I would wait until you are done with all your training and are at your duty station, you will have some time off and things of that nature after your operation. Like i said every place has differnt wait times, oklahoma we had almost 2 years of wait time, but now we in germany and we only have 2 months of wait time… he cant get it done till after he gets back from deployment. but its not bad…. hope this helps

    Well, I haven’t had it myself personally, but a lot of friends swear by it, and are glad that they got it. All these side effects disappear within a few days and. The process is simple, safe and fast. They are making big improvements in this field, so it’s probably worth it if you can afford it and don’t need to use your eyes for a few days
