Technically, I believe it is a sanctioned procedure for those at or over the local age of majority. Most places I’ve talked to require you to be at least 21, with no prescription changes in several years.

The problem is that most people’s eyes continue to grow and change slightly into their 20s. If you get surgery and your eyes change shape, then your vision will get worse again. At that point you would either have to have another surgery or go back to wearing corrective lenses.

Best plan would be to call around to several clinics, ask, and then book a free consultation to see if you would be a good candidate. krieger

no dr will even touch you until you are at least 18+. and most dr’s want you to wait until you are 21+ to be sure your vision is stable. Indiana Jones

I was told by my doctor that I would have to wait till I was 21. I got my lasik two weeks after my 21st birthday and have had 20/20 vision since then and it has been 4 years since the procedure. You might want to talk to your doctor and ask what age he would reccomend LoveMyLilMan
