How has LASIK eye surgery made a positive impact on today’s society?

eye surgery
nick asked:

I am doing a project on LASIK eye surgery for NHD (National History Day) and need some help with some ideas about how LASIK has changed society for the better. One example I thought of was that it allows those who had less than amazing eye sight to not have to use wreck specs or contacts while participating in sports and such. = / need help asap. please.

I had Lasik this past year and it was the best thing I ever did!! My eyes were rated the second to worst out there. I had the hard German measles as a kid and it wrecked my sight. For years I wore thick glasses and could never see what was in front of me when I took them off. I was nearsighted. I went through numerous hard contacts to soft contacts. Not having good sight I never learned to swim since I couldn’t judge where I was at. After the surgery I cried for joy since I could tell my sight was clearing. It’s been fantastic. I have 20/20 in my right eye and 20/30 in my left eye. I’d become a spokesperson for Lasik if they would let me! Snickers

LASIK ruined my life. I had an operation on “Impact Laser” in Mexico City in September 2008, now suffer from dry eye syndrome, eye pain, I can not read a book, use the PC is a martyr and suffer horrible symptoms dramatically.

I lost my college because of this.
I tried to sue the clinic but take refuge with a blade that made me sign before surgery, with eyes closed.
My greatest dream is that there is a cure and reading a book.

10 reasons not to get LASIK surgery

Artificial drops, as Systane not help, either punctal plugs, Restasis far.

PS: Forgive me for the bad translation. I’m Mexican Sancho

Tiger Woods is has been the pitch man for TLC, one of the largest LASIK centers in the USA. I am not sure how that fits in. Would he have gotten all those women if he wore glasses? David E
