My husband had surgery to correct his lazy eye when he was a boy. He is 40 now. Sometimes when he stairs at you or he is very tired the eye shows a small amount of lazy. But It is tons better then when he was young. Rarely does someone notice. He didn’t have to have glasses till about 4 years ago. And only has to wear them to read.

Have you tried strengthening his weak eye muscle by putting an eye patch on his good eye for awhile..Forcing the week eye to do more work should strengthen it… Ask his doctor if that would work for him. You may be able to avoid surgery if it will.

I know someone who had surgery for a lazy eye when they were 4 or 5 and they are 25 now and it’s like the eye was always “normal”, and they do not have to wear glasses.

I had surgery when I was like 4 on my lazy eye. I had to wear a patch for awhile, and then had to be in glasses for a few years.

I am 21 now and don’t have to wear them anymore.

my now 12 year old son had this done back in 2002. Both of his eyes turned in very much, he had to wear biofiocals. We tried the eye patch, they made him wear the glasses for a few years and nothing. So they finally did the eye surgery.

My boy is wonderful now- no glasses :) the surgery was on both eyes and he was up and running around the next day. we had to put eye drops in his eyes for a week if I remember right just to make sure no infection started. He didnt feel anything, was asleep and it was done in about 15 minutes was all he was under.

It made a big difference for him , not only for looks but he can see better and he doesnt have to wear the ugly glasses and he also doesn’t have a self issue about it. We can see his beautiful eyes now.

My sister use to babysit a little girl that’s eye use to turn in she had the surgery done and now you cant even notice but she never wore glasses and still doesn’t…But i think it just tightens the muscle i don’t think it has anything to do with vision and he would still have to wear his glasses..best of luck!!

I know someone who got that. They have to wear glasses, though it’s for a entirely different problem (or so they say lol) She’s fine though. Oh, the kid was only like 2 or so.
