Not sure, but here goes. The muscles are arranged around the eye to turn it and focus it in different directions. By stitching up the muscle on one side so it is shorter, it has less far to go to tighten up to its maximum extent. By extending a muscle with a ligament or tendon, it may be longer, and thus has further to move to tighten up to its furthest extent. Depending on the actual way your eye moves (or can’t move), your muscles may need to be made longer or shorter. Then you will need a time of recovery afterward, to be able to focus and get used to seeing in a new way. Good luck—I‘ll be praying for you !
