I ask because I used to get pain in one eye, progressively losing the peripheral vision to grey fuzz until I lost central vision too, then the other eye would go the same way (fortunately the second eye generally kept the central vision though). At the time I think i was under stress, and it very, very rarely happens now that I'm much more relaxed.

Sometimes you can just have the vision disturbance called an ocular migraine withoout even having the headache.
