Does the UK Army PARA regiment accept people who have had Laser Eye Surgery?

eye surgery
romancassini asked:

I am mildly-moderately shortsighted (-2.50). I aim to have Laser Eye Surgery to fix this next year, but want to know if the UK Army Parachute regiment accepts those who have had this treatment, as some armies (e.g. the Irish) do not.

There are a couple of similar questions up here but none give decent answers.

Thanks!

If you can pass the eyesight test no sweat.
Last thing I heard was the Parachute regiment differs in it’s medical requirements from the rest of the army only in that they have a height restriction. Seawitch

It’s not going to be dependent on whether or not you’ve had the surgery it’ll depend on the outcome. As long as you pass the eye exam the fact that you’ve had laser surgery will not be an issue SvenNZ

I’m pretty sure if you can pass the medical and everything else during P Coy without any form of corrective lenses then you’ll be fine. Para_To_Para
