Corrective eye laser surgery if you have a prism?

eye surgery
meow asked:

Can anyone advise me please. I have a prism in my eye prescription as i have a a slight lazy eye especially when my eyes are tired. I am also short sighted. Would i still be able to get laser eye surgery and be free of wearing glasses? Would this be more expensive that the usual LASIK LASEK procedure?
my lazy eye is intermittent usually when i’m tired. eye therapy sounds like a good idea - would i need to speak to my GP and can i get this on NHS?

I think the lasik/lasek would be able to correct the nearsightedness, but the prism portion of your RX is is based on your eye muscles working and is not a refractive error. I suggest asking your doctor about that.

I wore eyeglasses with a prism correction for a short period of time and they gave me horrible headaches. You may want to try vision therapy for the eye with the muscle issues and see if that helps so the prism may no longer be necessary. kasumicat
