wow761 asked: I have yet to enlist/talk to a recruiter, but a quick question I have is…
Would the military pay for your Lasik surgery before bootcamp?
Or do I have to wear those ugly glasses during bootcamp?
Could I get it in a contract when talking to the recruiter?
Do the Birth Control Goggles fall off easily, and/or they hardly noticeable from the point of view the person is wearing them if anyone have expereince with it?

Wolf asked: I’m scheduled for laser eye surgery, but I saw a disclaimer saying that you couldn’t do military or some law enforcement if you’ve had laser eye surgery, does anyone know what all the rules on this actually are? I checked the navy site and couldn’t find anything, I may have overlooked it though. I’m specifically concerned with navy, not so much other fields though I guess if you know them you can tell for them too.

Adam asked: What exactly is the British military’s policy regarding laser eye surgery?
I’d like to join the Parachute Regiment, but I want to have laser eye surgery before I join up. Is having laser eye surgery a no go, or do you have to wait a certain amount of time after having it before joining up etc?
I’m confused as some people say they wont let you in if you have it, others say it doesn’t make a difference, also people in the military can get discounts on laser eye surgery etc.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

dbt_cs asked: I am joining the navy (not SEALS) and am looking to get eye surgery before I apply and ship out. The paperwork will be pushed through by the end of this week and I hope to ship out in 6 months. However, the recruiter told me that if I have eye surgery, it would complicate my acceptance and I might have to wait a year to join. Is this true? Any information you can give me regarding eye surgery and any military enlistment restrictions would be great.

romancassini asked: I am mildly-moderately shortsighted (-2.50). I aim to have Laser Eye Surgery to fix this next year, but want to know if the UK Army Parachute regiment accepts those who have had this treatment, as some armies (e.g. the Irish) do not.
There are a couple of similar questions up here but none give decent answers.
Thanks!
