Don't get the surgery until you talk to a recruiter. If you have the surgery it will delay you from six months to a year just to enlist. The navy checks your correctible vision as well as your uncorrectible vision. Go through the physical process first if you are serious about joining. If they deny you cause of your eyes then have the surgery. At least do the process first.
