It MAY be swelling or it could be the cherry eye popping back up. I have a dog that has had cherry eye surgery twice now, the first time the vet thought it was just swelling, and it ended up being the cherry eye popping back up almost immediately after surgery. The second time it didn't take at all, so now we are in talks with an opthamology specialist... Wait and use the drops like the vet said, but if it doesn't stop being "swollen" soon, it might be the surgery didn't work.

You should listen to your vet...he has seen the dog in person, performed the surgery, and has gone to vet school; nobody else on YA has those qualifications. There is a good possibility that you are seeing swelling, but cherry eyes CAN come back. Good luck!
