Attention: This question is concerning people who have had Laser eye surgery?
Kim M asked:
Can lasar eye surgury be performed on someone that can not see far away but also wears bi-focals. If not would contacts be an option?

Lasik surgery is great for fixing your vision at a distance. You would still be able to function but to sit down and read a book you would need some readers (most people get away with the cheapies).
How old are you? That makes a difference. Most patients prefer to be able to drive, go to the movies, eat out, watch tv, overall function in daily activities without glasses and do not mind wearing readers for books or newspapers, etc.
You can get contact lens for bifocals also, although some patients are intolerant, b/c it does matter more how you put them in and their position so you can see well.
I work in a surgical facility that performs Lasik surgery all the time. If you need more information, just ask.
THANKS!!!
