As of 2 years ago, Lasik did not have the equipment to treat eyes with large pupils. Has this changed?

I knew an eye surgeon (cute but my friend’s bf) and he explained to me that Lasik machinery had only been made to operate on normal/average eyes. He said that once the surgery becomes much more popular, it will be profitable for a company to design a system that can also work on (my) eyes with large pupils.

Obviously he knew what he was talking about, as a Lasik surgeon, but I am wondering whether since then this new equipment has been manufactured. Does anyone know?

I have been wearing contact lenses for over 14 years now and my glasses tend to give me headaches. I’m tired on relying on my contact to be able to see the world. Does anyone know if Tri-Care covers Lasik surgery.

my main question is the one in the title, but i do have a few others.

I am asking this question becuz i am 5 years younger than my brother and we both use the computer about the same number of hours a day (he might even use it more than me), but my eyesight is MUCH worse than his.

I get ghosting and starbursts especially when my pupils are dialated. Should I dismiss lasiks and other laser surgeries due to the fact that my night vision could get a lot worse? I feel like I might be stuck with RGP contacts as the only thing that makes my vision satisfactory while giving me periphial vision as well.
