I’m having a surgery done for my lazy eye (I have a bad case of it). The doctor has informed me that she will cut underneath the white skin in front of my eye and do some work on the muscles. I wanted to know how painful the surgery will be. I am only 12 (13 in February), so I thought I would get the old “just a little bit” routine.

there are some rumors that eye surgery would disqualified students who wants to become a pilot and there are some that says it is OK as long you get a waiver with the ROTC detachment after a whole year from the surgery date. What is the truth? Is there a specific specification on measurements that needs to be done the eyes? If so, where can you get it? Thanks!

I am very nearsighted, legally blind, i had the surgery to take out the floaters. Now my vision is distorted, like looking in a funhouse mirror, plus my eyes are so sensitive to light that I need to wear sunglasses. But they cut down my vision, so I can’t do that. I’m 47 and a single mom. I can’t work. It’s awful. Has anyone had any bad results from the surgery that removes the floaters?

Also, I’ve heard from someone that people with astigmatism can’t get that eye restoration surgery. Is that true? Not that I can afford it right now anyway, I just want to know my options later on.
